Transcription: The Sea Ranch is one of those projects that come along every once in a long while that changes how we think. History might claim that the contemporary environmental design movement began with this project. By the 1960s, when the Sea Ranch was conceived, Americans had become used to large suburban developments which transformed California orange groves into, as Pete Seeger would have it, endless tracts of ticky tacky houses.
